...photographs open doors into the past but they also allow a look into the future. - Sally Mann

Whether I shoot digitally (as most images now originate), or on film, it is always done carefully and with much pride. Although the love for traditional film techniques never fades, the new technology associated with the digital SLR, the Mac computer, Adobe PhotoShop and Aperture, have provided me with fantastic tools to create as never before. For both clients and myself, the immediacy of working with these tools is equally rewarding.
Nature is an important part of my life. I love the outdoors - in my canoe, hiking and skiing; my cameras are constant companions. Much of the inspiration for my artistic images stems from my love of places such as Killarney Provincial Park and its beautiful surrounding areas in Northern Ontario. As well, I love to travel to further destinations. Most recently these have included Cuba, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), England, Scotland, Wales and, of course, Ireland.
My interests in photography are artistic, personal and contractual (food, location, portraits, weddings and more). I love it all. As well, I love to share my knowledge of photography with others. I have taught for a number of years, most recently (since 2004) for Durham College where I do courses in film and digital photography to full time students.
